The Watsons Go to Birmingham—1963

Set in 1963, this story centers around Kenny Watson who travels with his parents, his brother Byron, and his sister Joetta from Flint, Michigan, to Birmingham, Alabama. They are taking Byron, who has a history of misbehaving, to his grandmother's house. Kenny witnesses the bombing of his grandmother’s church, an incident based on true events. Kenny now looks at the world differently.
