Leaf Sheep of the Sea
Imagine scuba diving off the coast of Japan. The water is crystal clear, and you can see big fish swimming freely. You can see little fish hiding among the coral and plants. There is so much sea life all around you. Suddenly, you spot a teeny tiny creature about the size of a pea, living on what appears to be a mini fuzzy green carpet. If you weren't paying attention you might have missed it!
As you get closer you notice this creature looks like the smallest and cutest sheep you've ever seen, grazing on a field, but all beneath the surface of the sea! This creature has tiny black eyes and a sweet little white face with what look like sheep ears sticking out of its head. Unlike sheep we see on land this "sheep" appears to be covered in greenish leaves instead of wool. You have so many questions! Maybe you are wondering why there is an underwater sheep? What makes it leafy like a plant? How is it so cute?
